I was recently able to do an interview with Suzanne Taylor Hise who sings with the Taylors. Three of her five siblings (Jonathan, Chris, and Leslie) sing right beside her on stage just about every night.
First, I want to tell you a little bit about the group... "The Taylors are a brother-sister quartet from the heart of North Carolina. Jonathan, Suzanne, Christopher, and Leslie are dedicated to stirring up the faith of the Christian community, as well as reaching others with the good news of Jesus Christ through Gospel music. The Taylors are currently performing around 200 dates a year across the United States, including several mission-oriented trips abroad. Since their formation in 2006, God has allowed them to see over 5,000 decisions for Christ. The Taylor siblings grew up as members of Fellowship Baptist Church, a small country church, where their father has been a Southern Baptist minister for over 27 years and their mother the minister of music. With their mother's guidance, it was around the church piano that The Taylors learned their four-part family harmony. Growing up in a Christian home has reinforced their faith and values and has created in each of them a strong desire to proclaim their salvation through the ministry of music. God is at the center of The Taylors' ministry and at the center of their hearts. To Him be all the glory!*"
My two brothers, my sister, and myself decided in 2006 to start singing gospel music. We were not exposed to Gospel music when we were younger, but a group of guys (called Morris Trio) came to our church earlier in 2006. They inspired us to sing what we think is the best type of music in the world!
2. What are your Hobbies?
In my free time, I love to do photoshoots, scrapbooking, reading, or watching movies.
3. What is your favorite color?
My favorite color is Royal Blue.
4. How long have you been married?
I got married almost two years ago. So, not very long!
5. Whats your favorite song?
My all-time favorite song is That's Him, The Hoppers.
6. What are your favorite memories on the road?
I think my favorite memories would definitely have to be the jokes that we play on each other. Many times, when we are riding down the road we don't have much to do. So to kill some of that time, we play pranks or just try to be goofy!
7. What's your favorite meal to cook on the bus?
We LOVE pizza We have a Pizzaz on our bus, so if we stay at a Walmart someone usually ends up bringing a pizza on the bus.
8. What's your favorite Holiday tradition?
My favorite Holiday tradition is simply making it a point to be together. It doesn't matter where any of us have lived or what's going on in our lives, family and God are the most important things to us.
9. What's something most people don't know about you?
Maybe that I used to be shy! I used to avoid talking to people, because I was afraid what I said would not make sense.
10. When did you get saved?
I got saved at my Dad's church when I was 8 years old. We were having our annual Passion Play and when my Dad gave the invitation, I decided I wanted to know Jesus myself.
