Moments With Mercy - Interview With Wendy Hayes!

Hey everybody!

We have been  really busy around here recently, but I was able to do an interview with Wendy Hayes of the Mylon Hayes Family! Now this is a group that I have just recently started listening to, but so far I am lovin' their music! :)

Before we get started, let me tell you a little bit about the group.  I love the fact that they are homeschooled (just like us!).
"The Mylon Hayes Family, from Hudson, NC, is a complete family ministering on full time basis. Mylon is originally from Boone, NC and has sung most of his life with his family, The Hayes Family. Wendy is originally from Morganton, NC and sang solo’s in her church throughout her life as well. Mylon and Wendy were married in 1995. God blessed them with 3 wonderful children, twin boys Conner and Bailey who are now 16 years old and a daughter Kennedy that is 12. The kids are homeschooled allowing them the flexibility they need to travel.  This family’s desire is to lift up the Lord with the music they sing, pointing people to the Cross. Jesus said in John 12:32 “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me”. He was lifted up on that cross and took our punishment because of His great love for us all. The Mylon Hayes Family hope you see Jesus and realize His great love for you in the songs they sing and the words they say."

Well, here ya' go!  Wendy, I have really enjoyed interviewing you and learning just a little bit more about you and your family... thank you!  Readers, I hope you enjoy it just as much, and next time The Mylon Hayes Family is around you, go see 'em and tell them that you heard about them on Two Sisters' Southern Gospel Gazette!

1. When did you get saved?
I was saved in a revival at my church when I was seven years old.

2. How long have you been married?
We are celebrating 20 years of marriage this year! I am beyond blessed to have Mylon in my life!

3. Tell us a little bit about your family.
Well, our family loves to be together.  When Mylon and I married we decided that I wouldn't work so that we would  have the freedom to be together and  available to go anytime God opened the doors to go. We homeschool our kids. We don't have tv/cable in our home. We love to play games and watch old shows on dvd like I Love Lucy and The Andy Griffith Show.

4. What is something most people don't know about you?
I love to fish...especially at the beach!

5. Share one of your favorite memories from being on the road.
I guess one of the first road trips as The Mylon Hayes Family was one we will never forget! We were in our mini van and had all the sound equipment piled in and you could hardly see the kids in the back. It was not comfortable at all for a long trip but we were so excited!

6. How long have you been singing?
Traveling and singing has been something I have only done since I got married. I was blessed  to travel with Mylon and his family, The Hayes Family,  so when the kids came along they grew up on the bus!  I didn't grow up like Mylon singing with my family.  I sang at my church but had never sung in a group before. When I was a child/teen I always dreamed of one day singing Gospel music but never really thought I had the talent to ever get to do it full time. Looking back over the these past 20 years, I stand amazed at how the Lord has worked in my life and given me a lot of the desires of my heart!  He's given me a wonderful husband and children who love God and want to sing for him. I am LOVING this stage in our lives!  Getting to sing with our family is a dream come true. God has blessed and opened many doors and we want to give HIM all the praise!

7. What is your favorite song?
Oh my...I have lots of favs!!! But if just one... then I would say...Jesus Saves.  Everytime we sing that song I get excited about the fact that HE still saves and changes lives even in these evil times we are living in Jesus is still the answer!!!!!!

8. What is your favorite food?
 I love chinese!

9. Do you have any hobbies? If so what are they?
I enjoy decorating our home and scrapbooking but never seem to have enough  time to do it!

10. What is your favorite place to shop?
Hobby Lobby

I hope you enjoyed the interview!  if you'd like to know if they are ever around you go check their website!
