Behind the Songs : Scott Inman, Baritone for Triumphant Quartet!

Hey Everybody!

Today, I want to take a few minutes to let you learn a little more about Scott Inman, and his favorite song/s.  We have known Scotty and Triumphant Quartet for quite a few years, so it was great to meet up with them again at NQC Spring Break.  They were awesome as always, and even sang songs off of their new CD!

"The one consistent thing about life is change. Things around us are constantly changing. So when a group like Triumphant Quartet maintains consistency, it speaks volumes about whom they are and what all they have accomplished. Triumphant is the face of quality Gospel Music, Christian integrity, family values, friendship and dedication. The group has been that way since their beginnings in 2003, when the four friends first walked out on to the stage of the Louise Mandrell Theater, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee as a headlining talent. Each current Triumphant group member was there in that defining moment, and has continued together ever since. Their smooth harmonies, and rich quartet sound quickly gained them national attention, recognition and concert demand. That popularity promoted the group in 2008, from singing daily at the theater, to touring nationally and performing in major concert venues, auditoriums and churches. It has also voted them the Fan Favorite Quartet in the Gospel Music field for the last six years, and each group member also being nominated for and receiving various awards. Triumphant Quartet has had three #1 Songs and several others have climbed the Top 40 music charts, which has also contributed to their popularity. Gospel music fans agree that the triumphant sound is distinctive, solid quartet singing. But Triumphant excels in diversity, and also expands their musical borders to a wide variety of styles, that is enjoyed by church audiences and music lovers. When Triumphant takes the stage, the audience is entertained by the musical variety, the engaging personalities and a bond that is brought together by years of friendship. Audiences will find themselves smiling, laughing, crying, encouraged and uplifted. And most of all, they will walk away having had the Gospel Message presented to them in a powerful way, with a hope that many will receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ is the focus of Triumphant. He is the reason they sing, and these four gentlemen stay consistent and steadfast in their goal of giving their very best in all they do and every song sung."

  1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. "My full name is Clayton Scott Inman. I sing baritone for Triumphant. I'm married and have been for 7 years to Kasey. I have a 2 year old girl named Embry Caroline and have a boy named Bo Clayton arriving in August. I've been singing for 14 years professionally (13 years with Triumphant) I love Jesus, my country, my family, singing, & sports! I grew up in a Christian home, at age 7 I went through the motions of becoming a Christian but was no doubt saved at the age of 16."
  2. What is your favorite song/s (either that you have performed, or written)? "I have ALOT of favorite songs! Changes often, but my favorite to sing are "Somebody Died for Me" & "Great I AM Still is"... Favorite I've written are "Living in Harmony and "How You Walk the Miles" (performed by Karen peck Gooch). My favorite two songs to listen to right now are "Hope in Front of Me" by Danny Gokey & "come as you are" by Phillips Craig and Dean.
  3. Tell us the story behind your favorite song. "Living in Harmony" is a song that is the most current and means a lot to me and the group. We have always been blessed with a brotherly unity and God has allowed us this wonderful season in our lives. All good things come from The Lord. As the Church, the body of Christ we all have to be in one accord if we are ever gonna reach this world. So I think although this song has a fun upbeat melody it really challenges the Christian and also rallies us all together!"

I LOVE "Living in Harmony".  The words are so true, and it is done in the classic quartet style.  Awesome job, Scotty!  Thank you so much for agreeing to this.  I enjoyed getting to know about your favorite songs.  Readers, if you haven't yet seen Triumphant Quartet live, you have to!  You can visit their website to see their tour or store, and you can also Like them on Facebook and Follow them on Twitter to stay up to date with their newest updates, tour dates, etc.
