Behind the Songs : Jeff Stice - Mr. Piano Man

Hello Everyone!

This is a very special interview for me, because Jeff is a dear friend of ours.  We've known him for about seven years now -- he is such a fun guy to be around, and it is always a blessing to see him.  I was very excited when Jeff agreed to this feature, and I am looking forward to sharing with you all.

  1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. ANSWER (taken from www.jeffsticemusic.com) :  "Jeff Stice, affectionately known as “Mr. Piano Man” is having an incredible musical journey and has reached pinnacles of great success in The Gospel Music World.       In February of 2014, Jeff went through a season of reflection and change. He enrolled in an intense discipleship program for three months. While there, he discovered God in a way he had never known Him before: “While sitting on a picnic table by a creek one afternoon, I felt God’s arms wrap around me. He drew me close and reminded me that he loved me unconditionally and that He had given me a gift to share…the gift of Grace. For 46 years I had known about God, but now I know how to BE with God. So now, I have a testimony to share and I have a new song to play as I start a new chapter for my life.” Jeff is now in a solo career, doing Piano Concerts, producing projects for groups, soloists and other musicians and helping care for his parents. He is also currently enrolled and working on his Bachelors Degree from Louisiana Baptist University."
  2. What is your favorite SGM song/s (either that you have performed, or written)?  ANSWER : Hmmmm, this is a hard one! I don't know that I have a favorite song. I think certain songs move me depending on the mood or place that I'm at in my life. I do love how a song or a melody can immediately take me back to a memory or even change my state of mind. Music is a powerful thing!
  3. Tell us the story behind your favorite song.  ANSWER: I think I enjoy playing IT IS NO SECRET WHAT GOD CAN DO right now the most. I play it very simply. Since I've started this new chapter in my life, being a soloist , I've had to rethink how I approach a piano solo. I'm trying to concentrate on "playing the lyrics" more and more. I want people to sing along with what I do, so the melody is more prevalent.

Take a few minutes to go check out Jeff's website, and plan on going to see him soon.  You'll love it!  You can also Like his Facebook page where he frequently posts about his travels, music, his gorgeous dog - Rhythm, etc.

A big thank you to Jeff for taking the time to let us learn a little bit more about you!   And to the readers of Two Sisters' SGG - thank you for reading, and come back again soon.
