Moments WIth Mercy - Interview With Daniel Ball

Hey y'all,  While we were at the Memphis Quartet Show last week I was able to ask Daniel Ball about doing an interview and he graciously agreed to do one.  First let me tell you a little bit about the Ball Brothers.

"The Ball Brothers are two brothers, Andrew and Daniel Ball along with brother-in-law Chad McCloskey and newcomer, Matt Davis.  The group travels world-wide, singing their distinctive brand of Christian music."

And now for the interview!

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
"I am second-born in the Ball Family.  There are seven Children total.  Four boys and three girls.  My wife Tasha and I have been married for 15 years.  We have four children. Logan, Carter, Briley and Lincoln.   I have been singing full-time with the Ball Brothers for 10 years."

2. When did you get saved?
"I got saved at age 5 at State Street Baptist Church in Lincoln, IL.  I don't remember much about the sermon, but I remember the invitation.  I went to the alter and my Dad (who was leading the invitation hymn) came down to the alter and I prayed and asked Jesus into my heart that night."

3. How did the Ball Brothers get started?
"We started off as four real-life brothers and we grew up singing in church.  In 2006 we officially started traveling full-time as the Ball Brothers."

4. What is your favorite song?
"It's About the Cross.  I had the opportunity to write the second verse of that song.  We sing it pretty much every night and recently it went to #5 on the iTunes Christian sales chart.  More importantly, it has been used to spread the message of the Gospel to many people around the world."

5. What are your hobbies?
"I have a lot of hobbies, but less time to spend on them lately.   I love to fish!  I have often told people that if I was ever unable to sing, I would become a professional fisherman.   I also love photography.  I don't have much time to shoot, but still love it.  I also like acting and have got to be involved in several movies and commercials shot in Atlanta."

6. What is your favorite food?
"I've had to change my diet a little bit due to acid reflux that was affecting my voice.  So it used to be spaghetti, but I have been enjoying steaks lately."

7. If you could meet anyone (in the past or present) who would it be?
"That's a tough question.  There are many that I read about in the Bible that I would have loved to have met in person.  Thankfully, I'll have the opportunity to meet them all one day.   I would love to have the opportunity to meet Billy Graham."

8. Who is your Biblical hero?
"This one is a little easier.  The Apostle Paul.  During an in depth study of Paul writings in the New Testament, I gained a lot of knowledge about my position with Christ and the struggle of our sinful nature."

9. What is something most people don't know about you?
"Something that I hadn't started sharing about myself until recently, is that I get really nervous around large crowds.  I always thought that I would eventually get over that fear, but I never have."

10. Where do you call home?
"We live just outside the mountains of North West Georgia in LaFayette, GA.  It's about 12 miles from Chickamauga, GA that is the base for the Ball Brothers."

Daniel, Thank you so much for doing this.  Readers, I hope you enjoyed!  If you'd like to see if the Ball Brothers are ever around you go check out their website. You can also keep up with them on Facebook and Twitter.

Thanks for reading!
