Behind the Songs : Chris West

Good afternoon, everyone!

This is a feature that so many of you have requested and been waiting for!  Today participating in our "Behind the Songs" series, we have Gold City's Bass Singer - Chris West!  We've been able to see Gold City several times in concert this year and it's always a blast.

Gold City at the 2016 National Quartet Convention

     1.  Tell us a little bit about yourself:   "My name is Chris West and I sing bass, for Gold City. I have been married to my wife, Christy for twenty-one years. I have two kids, Dillan, 19 and Sydney, 16. I started singing bass when I was twelve. I saw a video of George Younce singing and knew immediately that was what I wanted to do."

     2.  What is one of your favorite gospel songs that you've ever sung or been featured on?   "Plan of Salvation- I've always loved the song but once I really started grasping what Grace truly is and what The Lord went through, for me to be able to receive it freely, it meant even more to me."

     3.  What is one of your favorite gospel songs by another artist or group?   "One of my favorite songs is, I Am Redeemed, by Brian Free and Assurance. My favorite part of the song says, I once was lost but now I'm found. His love has turned my life around. Amazing Grace that saved a wretch like me. I am redeemed. That song ministers to me because, even after I was born again, I got lost in myself and I thought that there was no way that God could use me, after everything I had done but as scripture says, where sin abounds, GRACE much more abounds!!!  That is why Grace is so amazing to me. It doesn't matter what you've done or how far gone you think you are, His Grace will always be more than enough!"

Chris, thank you so much for allowing us to feature you!  I've enjoyed it, and I am sure our readers have as well.  Be sure to check their tour schedule at www.goldcityqt.com to see when they'll be in your area next.  You can also head over to the Gold City Facebook page to stay up to date with their latest news, as well as sign up to receive notifications for ever popular, "Live with the City".
