Fan Spotlight : Amanda C.

Good morning, all!
Amanda, far left.

I'm headed out this morning to scope out a few new locations to photograph, but thought I'd stop in for a few minutes and share another Fan Spotlight!  This young southern gospel fan has also been featured before (February of 2017), and she loved the idea of stopping in again for a quick chat.

--------------------

(M)-- Tell us a little about yourself.  (Amanda)-- My name is Amanda Compagner, and I am 19 years old.  I live on a farm in Hamilton, Michigan.  I have worked as a waitress at Community Restaurant for about 2 1/2 years.  Since I was 13, I have loved southern gospel music!  Also, my sister and I attended the North Georgia School of Gospel Music for one week this past summer and LOVED it!  We plan to attend for two weeks this coming summer and are so excited!  (M)-- When and what got you started listening to SG?  (Amanda)-- When I was 13, my grandparents invited my family to come to a concert by the Browns.  We went and have been hooked on southern gospel music ever since!  (M)-- Do you remember what album/recording, concert, or group you heard first?  (Amanda)-- When I was younger, I went to a couple concerts by the Browns, Booth Brothers, Jeff and Sheri Easter, and the Collingsworth Family, but I don't remember those too well.  It wasn't until I was 13 that I started listening to southern gospel music after we went to the Browns concert with my grandparents.  (M)-- What are your top five favorite groups?  (Amanda)-- My top five favorite groups are The Mylon Hayes Family, The Browns, The Collingsworth Family, The Jim Brady Trio, and The Taylors.  (M)-- What is one of your current favorite songs?  (Amanda)-- That is a really hard question.  I would have to say one of my current favorites is "He's Still Alive" by the Erwins because it is encouraging and tells of the hope we have because Jesus is alive!  (M)-- What song was last played on your iPod/CD player?  (Amanda)-- The song I last played on my CD player was "God of What's to Come" by the Jim Brady Trio.  (M)-- How many SG groups have you seen in concert?  Have you kept a tally of how many concerts you've attended?  (Amanda)-- I think I have seen 16 different SG groups.  I have not kept a tally of all of the concerts we have attended, but that would be really cool to see how many we have gone too!  (M)-- Out of all the concerts/events you've attended, is there one in particular that sticks out as a favorite?  (Amanda)-- One concert/event that has been one of my favorites is the Gospel Music Hymn Sing that I went to last spring.  It is so much fun singing the hymns with so many people, and it is beautiful hearing everyone sing together!!!  (M)-- Do you prefer to download music, or own the physical CDs?  (Amanda)-- I prefer owning the physical CDs.  (M)-- Do you sing or play any instruments?  If so what part or instrument?  (Amanda)-- I sing soprano, and I have played piano since 4th grade.  (M)-- What song do you turn on for a pick-me-up?  (Amanda)-- "One More Opportunity" by the Mylon Hayes Family.  It is an upbeat song, and I can't help but sing along.  We have the opportunity to praise the Lord.  Plus, the Mylon Hayes Family has amazing harmony!  (M)-- What song do you turn on when you need to relax?  (Amanda)-- To relax, I like listening to piano music.  I have a CD by Tim Lovelace called "Piano Praise" that I really like.  (M)-- If you could choose one SG song as a life song, which would it be?  (Amanda)-- I'd choose "The Finished Tapestry" by the Mylon Hayes Family.  God has a plan for each of our lives.  Sometimes it may be hard to understand what that is, but we have to trust Him, and we will eventually see what His plan is for our lives.  (M)-- Do you own any SG records/cassettes, or strictly CDs?  (Amanda)-- My parents have some cassette tapes, and I have listened to a few of those in my car, but I mainly use CDs.
