Moments With Mercy: Interview With Grant Gibson

Hey y'all! I'm so excited to be sharing this interview with you all.  Grant has been singing with 11th Hour for the past 5 years and has just recently filled Ricky Braddy's position with Karen Peck and New River!  We've always enjoyed seeing Grant preform and can't wait to see him with K P & New River.  So, without further ado here's the interview.

Mercy: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself.
Grant: "My name is Grant Gibson, and I’m originally from Jasper."

Mercy: When did you get saved?
Grant: "I got saved at my church revival when I was 13 years old. An evangelist names Junior Hill was preaching and I knew that day that I was a sinner in need of a Savior. My life has never been the same."

Mercy: What is something most people don't know about you?
Grant: I think some people might be surprised that I’m a clean freak. I’m a little OCD when it comes to my home and everything has its place."

Mercy: What do you like to do in your free time?
Grant: "I really do enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love keeping up with sports too! War Eagle, Go Cards, and Go Preds!!"

Mercy: Do you prefer driving or flying?
Grant: "I actually enjoy both. I really enjoy flying and the convenience of it, but I also love to get behind the wheel and drive."

Mercy: What's the last song you listened to on your iPhone/cd player?
Grant: “Gotta Be Saved” by Karen Peck and New River. The fun part of joining a new group is learning all those songs. 🙂 "

Mercy: Who is someone that has inspired your singing?
Grant: "I’ve got several people that have inspired me... Arthur Rice, Loren Harris, Mark Trammell, And I always loved to hear Howard Goodman sing. In my opinion he was the glue that held the Goodman sound together."

Mercy: What is your favorite food?
Grant: "This by far is the toughest question you’ve asked.. I’m probably one of the least pickiest eaters you will meet. I could eat BBQ, Chinese, and Seafood just about any day of the week."

Mercy: What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you on stage?
Grant: "I’ve been singing for quite a while now and, knock on wood, I’ve never fallen or anything like that. I’ve been known to get tongue tied when talking on stage."

Mercy: Can you share one of your favorites memories of singing with 11th Hour?
Grant:  "I actually have a couple. It was really special being apart of something new. I was there for the first full set 11th Hour got at NQC. Another special moment was when we got the call that “Jesus Is In The House” went to number one. God has truly blessed us these last five years."

Mercy: What are you looking forward to the most in joining Karen Peck and New River?
Grant: "I definitely consider myself a people person and I can’t wait to meet all of New Rivers friends. I also look forward to singing some of my favorite KPNR songs night after night."

Grant, thank you so much for doing this!  It was an honor.  Readers, make sure to go check out Karen Peck and New Rivers schedule for the opportunity to see Grant with them!
