One of our favorite events every year is the Memphis Quartet Show located, as you probably guessed, in Memphis, TN.
This always a wonderful event and this year is sure to be the same!
Here's the schedule for MQS, as well as some places we're looking forward to visiting while in Memphis.
Dixie Echoes, Gold City, Inspirations and the Kingsmen are the line-up for the first night! I mean, what better way to start off a Quartet event than with some of the oldest and best Quartets in southern gospel?!
For the Thursday matinee we get to hear Ernie Haase and Signature Sound. We only get to see this group a few times a year so it's always an especially fun time seeing them!
Mark Trammell Quartet, Blackwood Brothers, Tribute Quartet, Dixie Melody Boys and The Bibletones. I love that this night there's groups like the Blackwood Brothers who have such a rich history in SG, to comparatively newer groups like Tribute Quartet.
Primitive Quartet, Mark Trammell Quartet, Dixie Echoes, The Guardians, Gerald Willams and the Classic Melody Boys. The highlights of this night for me will be seeing MTQ & The Dixie Echoes as well as seeing Pat Barker with the Guardians.
Brian Free and Assurance w/ Keith Plott. We hardly ever get to see this group other than the Singing At Sea Cruise, so we're really happy that BF&A is back at MQS! And to make it even more of a fun time, they didn't just get any bass singer to join them. Their former bass singer Keith Plott, who now sings with the Lefevre Quartet, will be on stage with them! This is sure to be a highlight of the week and something you definitely don't want to miss.
The Lefevre Quartet, The Blackwood Brothers, Poet Voices, The Kellys and The Old Paths Quartet.
The highlights for me on this evening will definitely be seeing the Lefevres and The Old Paths Quartet! Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love the Old Paths. And especially since we only see them a couple times throughout the year, it always makes for an even more special time seeing them.
Places to Visit:
Qahwa Coffee Shop- As an avid coffee lover, I can tell you this coffee shop is one of the best! And located only a couple blocks away from the Cannon Center!! :)
The Danny Thomas Museum- My family and I are all huge fans of Old Hollywood. I mean, who isn't a fan of of those old tv shows, ya' know the ones that actually had lessons and morals in them?! For those of you who don't know, Danny Thomas starred in Make Room For Daddy (also known as The Danny Thomas Show) as well as being executive producer on many episodes of shows like the Dick Van Dyke Show and The Andy Griffith Show. This will be our family's first time visiting the museum and it's sure to be a blast. If you'd like some more information click HERE.
Also, back the the MQS just in case you haven't seen it anywhere, this event is now being held in the Cannon Center! If you'd like more information about MQS or perhaps you'd like to buy tickets head on over to the Memphis Quartet Show website
